This is my first ever 'professional' attempt at photographing a big sporting event. A full length football match between two under 13 teams who were battling it out to win the Tandridge Cup Final. I was quite lucky to attend this event because funnily enough, my brother plays for the St Andrews football team which is his local youth club, so being able to take photos there was fairly simple. Which goes to show if you have contacts - friends, family or people you see every now and again, there is a big chance that they are involved in something you are interested in, which does not always have to be around photography. However this was not my first time photographing at a football match. Due to my brother being in the team, I was able to capture images in other games too. This helped me build up my knowledge on how to shoot at a fast-paced football match on aspects such as the settings I should use, where I should be on the sideline, who are the key players and so on. Now, just because my brother was playing in this match, did not mean I just wanted to focus on him. I had the chance to focus solely on him in games before this Cup Final. But this time I wanted to photograph both sides. That way if the opposing team's parents or the players themselves wanted to view the images and potentially keep them, then I would do that. And so I did, and for my first time photographing such a big sport whether or not it was a professional or Sunday league team, I think I did quite well. Have a look for yourself...
